Advance Registration Recommended and payment is required to secure your reservation.

The RMV allows students to attend a driver’s education course as early as 15 years and 9 months and coming into the classroom at that age allows adequate time to properly prepare parents/students for what lies ahead especially with all of the recent changes to various protocol of the driver’s education program. Mr. J’s Driving School offers driver’s education courses that run throughout the year and there are 3 different style of courses to meet the State-mandated 30 hour requirements.

  • Course I: our 1-week accelerated course during vacation breaks that run Monday through Friday from 8am to 2:30pm
  • Course II: our 15-week program that runs only on Saturdays OR Sundays from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
  • Course III: our 15-week program that runs only on Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Night and accelerated courses are offered during the summer months and school vacation breaks. While only night classes are offered during the school year. Please check our schedule above to find a classroom time that is convenient for you.

Keep in mind the RMV has a strict rule where students must be at least 15 years and 9 months on the first day of class in order to take the driver’s education program.

Merger Announcement

We're merging with Flint Driving School

 

We're currently working with the RMV to merge two schools into one so please bear with us as we're working through this.  Thank you for your patience.

  1. Mr. J driving school will turn into a branch office of Flint Driving school. Westport location will remain open just under the Flint Driving School name.
  2. Mr. J will remain the instructors for all portions of the driver's education program (classroom, parent class and driving lessons)
