Ready to start your journey on getting your driver’s license? If you’re ready to hit the road, Mr. J’s Driving School is here to help and here’s a couple of things to keep in mind. You can obtain your learner’s permit at the age of 16 by passing a computerized test at your local RMV. The law requires that you must have a valid learner’s permit and have it with you in order to take a driving lesson. A photocopy or a picture of it on your phone will not work so make sure you have it with you whenever you’re in the car with us.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires 12 hours of behind the wheel training and 6 hours of observation for anyone under 18. You must hold your learner’s permit with a clean driving record for 6 months or 184 days to become eligible to schedule a road test. That means you have 6 months to complete all 12-hours of behind the wheel training and 6 hours of observation. Don’t wait to the last minute and try to cram in all of your lessons in a month, spread them out and absorb all of the information taught on each lesson. We generally create a lesson plan that is somewhat spread-out over a few months to help students better understand all of the different driving skills necessary to become an defensive driver.
We love what we do and wish that we can teach everyone immediately but it’s just not possible. At the moment, we have students from Berkley to Mattapoisett and everywhere in between. Why wait to the last minute and try to get a spot on our calendar, let us book all of your road lessons in advanced so there’s no stress. Road lessons should be book in advanced to ensure that you get the date/time that best fit into your schedule. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
When you’re ready to book your road lessons, please fill the registration form below and we’ll get to work on your lesson plan. If you don’t have your learner’s permit yet, simply put an arbitrary number (SA1234567 ) and use your date of birth as the permit date. We will schedule all your required driving and observational lesson and send it to the email address provided.
